How many of us are willing to put aside our emotions, face cold hard FACTS, and let go of what’s really weighing us down? Whether it’s a person, a job, family, friends, locations, ideals, mindsets… I guess the specifics are subjective to each person and their beliefs. Seriously, though… its 2021. Thank God that we made it this far, but it has also been a hard journey thus far. If we have learned anything in the last year, surviving a pandemic it’s that life is short. Tomorrow is not promised, neither is the next hour, and the urgency is at an all time high (as if it were ever really at a low). If i understand anything about God, and about the way that he works, is that he rewards those who are obedient. Those who take the time to understand and know His will, and to follow that will out. Sometimes this can seem like a lot. A bit overwhelming. The logical mind comprehends that once one knows what God’s will is, then one is required to carry it out. And if by chance one does not carry it out, God will have every right to hold one accountable for one’s actions (and that’s frightening). See the truth is, that we like to be in the dark. We tell ourselves “what we don’t know won’t hurt us” but the truth is, what we don’t know, can and will hurt us! It’s like going to a job interview, without researching the company for which you are applying.You might be dressed well, but you my friend are not getting the job. To not know, is to be ignorant, and the ignorant one will be ill equipped. When we have the mentality of wanting to stay in the dark, and not see the truth, we are only hurting ourselves.
If nobody told you, I’ll tell you.. No one person will love you, like you can love you. And no one person will love you how God has loved you, forever. Fortunately, you can’t have self love, without God’s love. Without understanding God’s love. God’s Love. But we haven’t understood that yet… we keep looking for love in outside places. From people, who are just as faulty, if not faultier than we are. Are we willing to sacrifice right now, for the right one? We say, “we are ready for our soulmates”.. But how many of us have actually started doing the work to become a better person so that when God does bless us with our other halves we will be ready to know how to love them, because God showed us how to love ourselves. Sacrifice. I know it’s hard to let go of the person that you saw forever with, or that job that has given you so much security, or that family member who just takes it a step too far everytime, insert your problem here “ “. its hard, but it is so worth it, the peace that you’ll recieve for being obedient is the blessing in itself. 2021 is all about freeing ourselves from dead weight, and understanding God’s love and will!
